News Bling is a digital media startup focused on providing millennials with an unbiased news perspective that is thoughtful and entertaining. We're taking on media bias and fake news.
How so?
- Our launch product is a daily newsletter that brings together the biggest headlines from all sides of the conversation (example: www.newsbling.co)
- We cover the top news stories in snippets we call "Bullet Points"
- Our focus is on providing direct, factual news without any fluff and bias
- The newsletter focuses on politics, media, tech, business, and trending social commentary
- Our goal is to help readers quickly digest factual news in under 5 min each day
Who are you looking for?
We're looking for a creative editorial intern to help with researching, aggregating, analyzing and publishing the newsletter.
What are the responsibilities?
- Research and aggregate content for the daily newsletter
- Analyze daily news landscape and compose the newsletter
- Help with marketing and growth of the newsletter and brand
- Work with the founder on strategy and product roadmap
- Commit at least 3 hours/week for the internship (remote is ok)
What requirements/skills do I need for this opportunity?
- Be an outstanding person who is fun, creative, thoughtful, open-minded and has a sense of humor
- Previous writing experience (even a personal blog)
- Passionate consumer of the news
- Highly curious and ready to learn
- Fluency with digital media
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree

Background
News Bling is a startup launched by Nupur Patel, an experienced media professional and recent Harvard Business School MBA. The idea is to provide millennials with a quick rundown of the biggest news stories and highlight media bias to help consumers understand differing perspectives. Nupur previously worked at Netflix and Viacom (Nickelodeon) in roles including: content planning & analysis, digital publishing, strategy and business development.
